What: Barbecue Slaw Dog
Where: Casey’s Corner (Main Street USA, Magic Kingdom)
Cuisine: Fast Food
Affordability: under $15 with drinks
Pointers:
- Very busy of course as with any food places inside Magic Kingdom. But a little better than the ones served in stalls at Animal Kingdom, so wait in line if you have to.
- Casey’s is an icon that pays homage to the national American pastime of Baseball. Throughout the day, at various times, there is a piano player that performs outside. They serve Hot Dogs mainly, but you can also order fries, corn dog nuggets, chilli, soft drinks, bottled water, iced tea, coffee and tea. There is very little place to eat inside so don’t bother looking around. There are also bleachers on the corner where you can sit, but head outside where you have a higher chance of getting a table.
- I had the Barbecue Slaw Dog (pictured above) with fries and iced tea. The hot dog is buried under massive amounts of BBQ pulled pork then topped with coleslaw, then drizzled with BBQ sauce. It is a mess to eat but the slaw and the BBQ pulled pork has an interesting mix of flavour. Make sure you have a lot of napkins as you will go through it. And if you didn’t, don’t fret, the bathroom is just around the corner. You will probably need to wash up even after you cleaned up with napkins. The BBQ sauce is just so sticky.
- I’ll probably have the other hot dogs next time. This was just too messy to eat and too sweet a BBQ sauce for my liking.
